PIIT28 REVIEW - WORKING OUT WHILE TRAVELING
Welcome to a little bit a different Post. This Blog is mainly about travel but also about us as people. So because I love working out regularly and have a slight fear of falling out of shape once traveling full time I spend quit a lot of thinking and trying out on how to stay fit while being on the go.
First I want to start of with a little introduction to my sport background. As a kid I was doing Athletics for a few years, I was usually one of the worst but I did not mind that much. Later I really wanted to play football (soccer) but I could not find a girls team close enough. Once I was old enough to travel with public transport also late at night coming back from training, I started playing football. I played 3-4 years before I was a little fed up with Team sports and really got into Shaolin Kung Fu. I stuck with Shaolin Kung Fu for about 7 years, I loved it and trained very regularly. But we all change overtime and I lost the drive to go to a “strict” martial arts school. I started getting fluffier than planned and in December 2015 I realised that something has to change in order for me to feel comfortable in my own skin again. So I started working out to BLOGILATES on Youtoube. After 2 months my body changed significantly and I felt so much better already. In March 2016 Cassey Ho the BLOGILATES founder released her new program called PIIT28. As I just started getting back into Training regularly I did not wanna invest money in a workout at first. But I joined in her Facebook live PIIT28 session and I got hooked, bought the package with the reset. I never actually planned to do the 28days reset, as I have quit figured out what foods my body tolerates, but I loved trying out the recipes in it.
So how does it work?
Basically you follow a plan and work out 6 times a week (if possible). Each workout is only about half an hour (actual PIIT is 28min40s) and then you add warm up and stretching. It is amazing how good of a work out you can get in such a short time, and that is why I love it. I also really enjoy the portal (webpage with your login) as you can watch the workout and do it with Cassey, she will talk to you and encourage you throughout the workout. I personally mostly use printouts or just the timer of the BLOGILATES APP.
You will work your whole body during 6 days of the week as well as have enough cardio to go with it, meaning you build muscle mass and burn that fat.
Is it effective?
Ahm hell yes!
Is it fun?
To me it is. I love to work out at home or on my own and have no big trouble motivating myself. If you love working out on your own and kick your ass, feel awesome after and take some sweaty selfies, but donâ€™t feel like planing your workout or just follow some boring 30 reps of this 50 reps of this plan then ðŸ˜‰ this might just be perfect for you.

I finished PIIT28 by end of March 2016 and I felt so strong and happy, so I repeated it for the next month.
After Cassey released 2.0 and 3.0 it was a no brainer for me and I got them, finished all of them.
My body is on the softer side so it is really hard for me to see any muscle definition but I can promise you this work out made me feel so much stronger. I always went through all 4 rounds and felt amazing finishing the workout each day. Sweaty and smiling I would be dancing through my room. And the best about this workout for me is, that you only need a little over half an hour. The program itself is 28min40s but you want to make sure to warm up a little and also stretch out after. The time passed by so fast, I am using the BLOGILATES APP timer and I would make my own Playlists or also watch youtube videos while working out.

I stand 100% behind this program and would love for it to become a Group Fitness class one day!
As for traveling and staying fit, it is also perfect. To be clear with you, when I travel I do not work out everyday because everyday could look different. But since I finished all PIIT28 programs I love including PIIT28 workouts in my schedule. That is also what I would do while traveling. There are a few factors that help me decide what kind of workout I do on a certain day.
In order to be able to do a PIIT28 workout while traveling I need to have a pair of trainer shoes (workout clothes I anyway bring everywhere I go) I need a room where I have some space to do my moves (be considerate about people living in the same house, make also sure your shoes are clean and nobody minds if you wear them in that room. That is particularly important if you stay at other peoples houses.) If the weather is alright I also donâ€™t mind to do a PIIT28 workout outside (make sure you dress appropriate to the culture) find a nice and quite spot in a park or sports area.
If I donâ€™t feel like a high intensity training or have limited space, bad weather or should not disturb anyone. I usually like to do a few BLOGILATES videos (if I have wifi) you could even download a few favorites and bring them along on your travels or write down the moves and do them to music. For me as a POP Pilates Instructor it is also very handy to know workout choreos by heart so I would sometimes even just workout using those. Usually I do work out with no body weight only, no equipment needed. But you could easily bring same resistance bands, they can be very versatile. If I can, I might bring a yoga mat, but sometimes you just donâ€™t want to carry more stuff so most of the times a towel suffice.

I am actually currently looking into Travel Yoga mats, but I just donâ€™t see enough benefits on spending money on one, because the only thing they offer is grip as they have almost no cushioning. So I am contemplating in either bring no matt at all and just use my travel towel or bring a legit min 5mm mat.
